125g unsalted butter125g caster sugar450g plain flour3/4 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp salt125g golden syrup1 egg Combine the butter, sugar, flour, baking powder and salt in a food processor and blend until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.Add the golden syrup and egg and blend together until the mixture combines and forms a ball. Wrap the ball in cling wrap and place in the refrigerator for an hour or so.When you are ready to bake your biscuits, preheat your oven to 180 degrees (160 degrees fan bake). Line a baking tray with baking paper.Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until about 5mm thick. Using your cookie cutter, cut out shapes of your choice and carefully lift onto the baking tray using a knife, spacing them 3cm apart.Bake in the middle of the oven for 8-10 minutes until slightly golden.Remove from the oven and cool on the baking tray for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
